Modern Living Services is looking for donated land to start a federal housing project for adults with developmental disabilities.
The nonprofit was created in July 2008 to provide housing and vocational services to disabled Mid-Columbia adults.
Modern Living Services estimates there are about 700 adults who are not receiving supported living services. And more are expected after projected state budget cuts.
The HUD 811 program provides some development costs but the nonprofit needs affordable land.
MLS is looking for a one-acre parcel, zoned multiple-family residential, in a safe location and near bus transportation. The agency plans is to build 14 one-bedroom units.
