Hanford employees donate 8 tons of food

Hanford site employees collected more than 8 tons of food for area food banks, officials said Monday.

Mission Support Alliance led the annual food drive during the first two weeks of December, and also donated $4,000 to buy frozen turkeys.

CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Company donated $2,500 and Washington River Protection Solutions contributed $500 toward food purchases.

Union members from the Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council contributed $1,975.

The food was delivered to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and food banks in the region.

The Hanford Patrol Law Enforcement Explorer Post and Kennewick Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team also helped.
