Monday through Dec. 31 is the last week yard waste will be collected from green cans in Richland. Collection starts again March 7.
For the last collection, place leaves, yard clippings, holiday plants without pots and decorations in the green yard waste containers.
Once collections stop, Richland residents may take yard debris to the landfill for free, or put it in their gray can.
Residents are asked to take Christmas trees to collection sites rather than leaving them on the curb. Trees are easier and more cost-effective to manage if taken to collection sites, city officials said.
