WALLA WALLA -- A spaghetti feed and silent auction fundraiser for a Walla Walla baby born with a rare genetic disorder is planned from 4-7 p.m. today at the VFW, corner of Rose and Colville streets in Walla Walla.
Baby Peyton was born Oct. 18 to Kara Jenkins and Jason Kaehler. She was flown Oct. 19 to Spokane where she was been diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome. Peyton is missing part of chromosome 22 and faces a lifetime of medical issues, which can include heart defects, poor immune system function, a cleft palate, poor function of the parathyroid glands and behavioral disorders.
Cost for the spaghetti feed is $8 a plate for adults, $5 for children up to age 8.
All proceeds from today's fundraiser will go to help offset the financial/medical costs for Peyton.
