Franklin County voters set a record for off-year election turnout during the November general election.
A little more than 69 percent of the registered voters in Franklin County voted in the election, or 17,557 of the 25,349 registered voters.
Voter turnout was 65 percent in the 2006 general election, which was the most recent similar year, said Diana Killian, county elections administrator.
Stuart Holmes, elections supervisor in Benton County, said the November general election turnout was the highest since the mid-1970s.
"It was 72.35 percent, which represented 64,030 out of 88,498 eligible voters," he said.
