The Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic could embark on an expansion of three of its facilities in the Yakima Valley in the spring, thanks to a $12 million federal grant.
The expansion is designed to serve an expected increase in caseloads.
"It is a rising demand for service that is interrelated with health care reform," said Glenn Cassidy, clinic spokesman. "We expect an influx of people seeking a primary care physician."
The money comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Expansion is planned at the Lincoln Avenue Medical Clinic in Yakima and the Grandview Medical-Dental Clinic. The money also will pay for a new data center at clinic headquarters in Toppenish.
Cassidy said details on the additions will be available after an architect is selected to design the projects.
