A 36-year-old woman was killed Sunday morning after her pickup slid and rolled over on Highway 395 south of Pendleton.
Patricia Eversull of Pendleton was driving a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup northbound on 395 near Pilot Rock around 3:30 a.m., when it slid on icy road, Oregon State Police Lt. Greg Sherman said in a release.
Eversull tried to correct the sliding pickup, but it went off the roadway and hit a rock and dirt embankment, he said. It bounced back onto the road and overturned, stopping in the northbound lane.
Daniel Sheets, 39, Eversull's passenger, freed himself from the overturned pickup. Sheets was transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger were wearing seat belts.
