PENDLETON -- An Oregon man who lost control of his SUV on an icy highway near Pendleton was killed in a two-car crash that seriously injured the driver of the other vehicle.
Oregon State Police said 48-year-old Danny Schademan of Pilot Rock died in the accident that occurred about 4:30 a.m. Monday on Highway 395 south of Pendleton.
The other driver was identified as 44-year-old Gary Lathrop of Pendleton.
Troopers said Schademan was northbound when he lost control on the ice and swerved into the southbound lane before his vehicle was struck.
