The Edith Bishel Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is working with the Multi-Cultural Elder Awareness Committee to put together baskets to give to senior citizens during the holidays.
Items needed include: mittens, hats, flannel sweatshirt, sweat pants, socks, postage stamps, assorted greeting cards, tissues, shampoo, conditioner, flashlights with batteries, first-aid kits, Band-Aids, pill boxes, hand lotion, grip writing pens, pencils, pads, paper, calendars, paper towels, paper napkins, laundry detergent, toothpaste, soap, blankets and slippers.
Food items needed include: Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, Ensure, peanut butter, jam/jelly, sugar-free hard candies, low-sodium crackers, potatoes, onions, apples, oranges and pet food.
Donations must be made by Dec. 13 and can be dropped off at the center, 628 N. Arthur St., Kennewick.
