Lourdes gets new, larger MRI machine

A new MRI machine arrived at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco last week.

The new MRI has a larger opening than a typical MRI machine.

Hospital officials said it should be more comfortable for patients, who can feel claustrophobic when spending an hour in what amounts to a small tube as they're scanned.

The new machine replaces Lourdes' old MRI with cutting-edge technology that's one of about 20 of its kind in the country.
