$92,000 for neonatal ICU raised by radiothon

A 36-hour radiothon at Kadlec Regional Medical Center brought in more than $92,000 for the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The event, known as Kadlec 4 Kids a Thon, wrapped up Friday.

Radio disc jockeys A.J., Amy Raye and Jackson broadcast live on 94.9 FM The WOLF from the Richland hospital for 36 hours to raise community contributions.

Donations ranged from piggy bank savings emptied by their young owners to $30,000 from Dr. Mark and Tammy Mulholland, said Kadlec spokesman Jim Hall.

"We're so thankful for the community support," Larry Christensen, executive director of the Kadlec Foundation, said in a news release. "These donations will help the most critically ill babies and their families."

Nearly $300,000 has been raised in the three years of the Kadlec 4 Kids a Thon, Hall said.
