Elected officials to join breakfast for Benitz

A dozen elected officials from Benton County and state representatives plan to have breakfast this morning with commissioner Max Benitz Jr. in Kennewick to promote his re-election.

County Treasurer Duane Davidson, Clerk Josie Delvin and Auditor Brenda Chilton are to speak about why they support Benitz's candidacy.

Benitz is opposed by Shon Small, a Prosser-area resident who has had a 20-year career with the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Benitz said the public is welcome to attend the fundraising breakfast fro 7 to 9 a.m. at the Country Gentleman in Kennewick.

Also expected to attend are Assessor Barbara Wagner, former county auditor Bobbie Gagner, Commissioner Jim Beaver and Coroner Rick Corson.

Benitz said he also expects several other officials, including state Sens. Jerome Delvin of the Eighth District and Jim Honeyford of the 15th District, state Reps. Larry Haler and Brad Klippert, both Eighth District, Bruce Chandler and David Taylor, both of the 15th District, and Jane Hagarty of the Port of Benton Commission.
