The man dropped the bucket and ran, jumping a fence and crossing railroad tracks, police said. He reportedly carried a box with unknown contents over the tracks.
The man met up with Rickel and the two drove off in Rickel's green Dodge Intrepid, police said.
Officers found the car and Rickel, who had four outstanding felony warrants including one for a previous burglary, police said.
They're still looking for other man, who's believed to have the first name "Dave."
