The commission is making recommendations on what to do with the nation's high-level radioactive waste, including waste from the Columbia Generating Station near Richland and the Hanford nuclear reservation.
The waste was expected to go to a national repository at Yucca Mountain, Nev., but the Obama administration opposes opening the repository.
