On this day: July 25, 1935

Fire of undetermined origin swept through downtown Pasco on Lewis Street near the N. P. tracks. The Celilo Hotel was a complete loss, the two M. & M. Cafes were a blazing inferno, as was the Mercer Second Hand and the Pat Fitz Second Hand stores. The John Gibson garage on the west and a large hotel on the east side were in constant danger. Pasco and Kennewick fire departments fought a gallant battle.
