Excavation for a pipeline has been discontinued since workers unearthed a skeleton. Apparently the Ainsworth cemetery, known as Boot Hill, extended farther than previously known. The cemetery is a quarter mile southwest of the Snake River bridge on the Pasco side of the highway. Ainsworth was the most important town in the area from 1879 to 1885.
