On this day: June 23, 1961

It took the military to restore order in Pasco's Volunteer Park as 2,100 Rainbow Girls surged forward to receive their packaged lunches from a refrigerated truck. Seeing the plight of the staff, a drill sergeant at Fairchild Air Force Base leapt onto the truck and with his best drill voice had the girls in orderly lines in no time.
