A letter to Mrs. Fox from Mrs. Doyle, who writes from Dyea, Alaska, states that she is extremely disgusted with that place. She writes that the houses would make a Pasco chicken coop look like a palace. She pays $45 per month rent for a little old shack, $12 a cord for wood and $25 a ton for coal. She gives meals at 50 cents each and does a very small amount of business.
