A citation for contempt of court was issued by Judge Fred Staples against Mrs. Keith (Bertha) Smith for "using the press to distort the meaning" of the Judge's words. Mrs. Smith wrote a letter to the editor complaining about statements she said Staples made when he fined her son $25 for violation of juvenile liquor ordinance. She was informed of the citation when Pasco police called her to pick it up. She said she would wait until it was served.
