A 51-year-old transient who was killed by a Northern Pacific freight train was buried in Riverview Heights Cemetery with full military honors. Russell E.F. Bedell carried identification papers from World Wars I and II and authorization was given by the war department for interment as no relatives could be found. Hours after the burial, deputy coroner Amon Mueller said a sister had been located in Kansas City.
