On this day: Aug. 25, 1932

With the opening of the City Billet the committee in charge is urging people all over town to refuse to feed transients. Cooperation of all the residents will make it easier to weed out the unworthy by making all do some work. Of the first group of 26 appearing at the Billet for a meal, only 11 would work. Refusal to feed them in the residential districts will also reduce the annoyance of having them appearing constantly at the homes.
