The state fire danger rating has been increased to moderate for every county east of the Cascades as temperatures are expected to heat up this weekend, says the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
Some Mid-Columbia local fire districts have rated the fire danger as high.
Higher temperatures, lower humidity and increased winds are forecast through Tuesday evening.
Department of Natural Resource burning permits have been suspended in Grant, Adams, Columbia, Yakima and Walla Walla counties.
Campfires are allowed in designated campgrounds.
