Snow started falling Thursday afternoon in the Tri-Cities and roads already are turning slippery.
Drivers are urged to use caution, especially in outlying areas.
The National Weather Service predicts about an inch of snow, maybe two, will accumulate Thursday, with possibly a little more snow falling before midnight.
The weather service put the chance of snow in the Tri-Cities at 80 percent Thursday afternoon and evening, decreasing to 40 percent overnight.
More snow could fall Friday, but the chance of snow drops to 60 percent, according to the weather service. Less than an inch of snow is expected.

With temperatures starting to rise over the weekend, any precipitation for late this week and early next week could fall as rain or snow.
