Dr. Sue A. Mandell will join the Tri-Cities Cancer Center as a radiation oncologist and medical director at the end of August.
She’s a board-certified radiation oncologist who currently serves as director of the radiation oncology department at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine, a news release said. She previously was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy, serving at Portsmouth Regional Medical Center for four years, the release said.
Her academic appointments include positions at University of Medicine and Health Sciences, St. Kitts, South Portland, Maine; Tufts University, New England Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, Boston, Mass.; and Eastern Virginia Medical School — Medical College of Hampton Roads, Department of Radiation Oncology, Norfolk, Va., the release said.
She’s married with two children, including a son who attends the University of Washington, the release said.

“We are very excited about the level of skill, treatment interests and clinical trial experience Dr. Mandell brings to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center,” said Dr. Joseph Kelley of the cancer center in the news release.
