The Areva Fuel Fabrication Facility in Richland has received an exemplary compliance review from U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the second year in a row, Areva announced.
The review was part of a check of the facility’s processes under Foreign Trade Zone requirements. It found no security issues.
“We are committed to the safe and secure operation of our facility here in Richland,” said Ron Land, senior vice president of Areva’s U.S. fuel business.
The Richland plant fabricates fuel for the U.S. and Pacific Rim nuclear power plant markets.
