WALLA WALLA -- Pacific Power is providing renewable energy for the Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days for the 10th consecutive year.
The 148th annual fair is Aug. 28 to Sept. 1 at the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds.
Pacific Power provides renewable energy from western region wind farms to match the energy being used to power the event, including lights, spotlights on the concert stage and powering the Ferris wheel. This year that amounts to 75,000 kilowatt-hours, enough to power about 58 typical Washington homes for an entire month.
Using green energy for the fair helps avoid more than 93,600 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions, a release said.
