The Kennewick Red Lion Hotel at 1101 N. Columbia Center Blvd. has been sold to a new owner who signed a franchise agreement that includes plans to improve the property.
The new franchise owner is keeping the Red Lion name and will improve the landscaping and parking lot and update the guest rooms at the property, according to a news release from Red Lion Hotels Corp. The hotel was sold May 28.
The hotel has 162 guest rooms and suites with nearly 10,000 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi and Louie’s Lounge, open nightly for dinner, sports and entertainment.
Adjacent to the Columbia Center mall, the property is three blocks from the Three Rivers Convention Center and Toyota Center.
The Red Lion Hotel Canyon Springs in Twin Falls, Idaho, also was sold June 6. The property also will remain a Red Lion, and the new owner will improve the overall curbside appeal in addition to upgrading the guest rooms, according to the release.
“We have retained franchise agreements with the sale of the first four properties of six we listed last fall,” said Greg Mount, president and CEO of Red Lion Hotels Corp. in the release. “In each of these cases, the new owners have agreed to significant property improvement plans. Each of these sales substantiate the relevance and name recognition of the Red Lion brands.”
Red Lion Hotels Corp. is a hospitality company primarily engaged in the franchising, ownership and operation of hotels.
