Cupcakes Bakery & Deli shop opening at Kennewick storefront

There's good news for all those who have missed the goodies and yummy food served up at Cupcakes Bakery & Deli.

Milli Banks Boggan moved her mixers and baking pans to a newly built storefront at 5610 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick.

It's so new that she hasn't put up a sign.

"But if you spot Tacos Palomino, turn in and drive to the end of the building. That's us," Banks Boggan said. "You'll see Rudolph nibbling the cherry on top of my cupcakes logo on the window."

Banks Boggan said she closed her restaurant/bakery on Kennewick Avenue about four months ago. From then into the middle of November, she and her staff worked out of the Pasco Specialty Kitchen while the restaurant was built.

"I love it here," she said. "It's sunny and bright with lots of glass. Everyday I'm excited to come to work and turn on the oven and get my hands in the batter."

"My goal was to get this business up and running so I could retire from Farmers (insurance), but it turned into a job that's so much fun it should be illegal," she said.

Banks Boggan offers a short deli menu to complement the bakery. The featured sandwich is her homemade barbecued smoked pork sandwich served with homemade potato salad or coleslaw.

"Through the end of the year it's just $5," she said.

She also is selling her cupcakes for $2 each through December.

To celebrate the restaurant/bakery's grand reopening, Banks Boggan is holding a series of contests and promotions. You'll find them on Facebook; just search for CupcakesDeli.
