Want to hear about changes to tax law, rates and state Department of Revenue programs that could affect you?
The department has created a new general information listserv to make it easier for taxpayers to stay informed.
The listserv will alert subscribers to new legislation, revisions to tax law, rate changes and any department programs that may affect businesses.
The department also maintains listservs on specialized topics, but this is the first time it will cover a variety of issues, according to a news release.
Taxpayers are responsible for knowing their reporting obligations in Washington. The department has assisted by sending information to taxpayers as changes occur, but recent budget cuts mean the department won't be able to send many of the informational mailings previously sent to taxpayers.
Business owners are encouraged to go online to dor.wa.gov/listserv, enter their name and email address, select the button for "Join" next to General Information, then click submit.
