The Union Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $29,000 for the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission this year.
The tournament, in its seventh year, was put on in July by the Metal Trades Department, which includes the 15 AFL-CIO unions that make up HAMTC and the Building Trades, which consists of 14 AFL-CIO affiliated unions that represent construction workers at Hanford.
CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. was the prime sponsor.
Last year, the mission provided 36,163 nights of lodging and served about 70,000 meals that year, said Andrew Porter, the nonprofit's assistant executive director. The mission also gave about 61,000 articles of clothing to those in need as well as providing Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes to needy families.
