New deputy director hired at Pasco airport

The Port of Pasco's Tri-Cities Airport has named Donald "Buck" Taft as the new airport deputy director.

Taft, who began work Monday, comes from McAllen, Texas, where he was the operations and maintenance manager for the McAllen-Miller International Airport for the past three years. He has more than 10 years of experience in the aviation industry.

Taft has a bachelor of science in aviation management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is an instrument-rated private pilot, certified member with the American Association of Airport Executives and was serving on the board of directors for the South Central Chapter of AAAE.

Taft will fill the position left vacant when Ron Foraker became the airport director after the death of former airport director Jim Morasch on Feb. 4.
