Gas station chain plans to build in Tri-Cities

A national fuel and convenience store chain is looking to build several outlets in the Tri-Cities.

Maverik convenience stores are planned for Pasco and Richland, a company official confirmed Friday.

The company's website shows a Pasco store will go in at the intersection of Road 68 and Sandifur Parkway. The website listed it as the Salt Lake City-based chain's 441st store nationwide.

Alana May, an administrative assistant in the company's real estate division, said another store is planned for Richland, though she would not say where they are looking to build. She said Maverik has yet to buy any property in Richland.

But the Queensgate area of south Richland is believed to be a possible site. May said Maverik also is looking for a site in Kennewick.

Maverik operates convenience stores that sell gas and fuel, beverages, fresh food from its bakeries and other items.

Its stores mainly are in the intermountain region, including the states of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, Montana and Colorado. The company's website shows its only Washington store is in Sunnyside.
