YAKIMA -- LarsonAllen has acquired a Kennewick-based accounting firm with offices in Yakima and Kennewick.
The merger with Hansen NvO went into effect on the first of the month, but the 10 employees of the 5-year-old company are in the process of moving to LarsonAllen's Yakima and Kennewick offices.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hansen NvO had long-term plans to sell the firm, but decided to sell sooner after the sudden death of company founder Scot Hansen, said Paul Neiffer, a principal, a position akin to partner in the accounting business.

It was more difficult for Neiffer and principal Bill van Oostrum to take on Hansen's former clients or find a replacement at the same experience level, he said.
The company was drawn by LarsonAllen's strong agricultural accounting practice as well as its expertise in other industries such as the financial and health care sectors, Neiffer said.
"We're able to provide more services," he said.
Several months earlier, Minneapolis-based LarsonAllen merged with Spokane-based LeMaster Daniels, which had offices in Yakima.
Hansen NvO's solid agricultural client base was a key selling point, said Scott Dietzen, executive principal for LarsonAllen.
"Their practice just meshed really well with what we're doing in that part of the state," he said.
