How issues like health care reform and tax law changes affect local small businesses will be explained Jan. 13 at the "Strategic Business Forum: Recognizing Red Flags for Business Owners and Managers" at Washington State University Tri-Cities.
The Strategic Business Forum is from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at WSU Tri-Cities in the Consolidated Information Center, 2770 Crimson Way, Richland.
Interactive panels made up of regional experts will discuss preparing for state and federal tax law changes, retaining key employees, maximizing a marketing budget, avoiding human resource errors and planning for the "new normal" in retirement.
"Business owners and leaders in the community will take away practical information in a half-day session, they can get taught something they can take back to their work and apply immediately," said Todd Halterman, CEO of Pacific Crest Planning in Kennewick.
Registration is $285, with a $25 discount for signing up by Monday at www.tricity.wsu.edu/businessforum or by calling 372-7606. The cost includes breakfast, lunch and resource materials.
