Ben Harp has been selected as the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant startup and commissioning integration manager for the Department of Energy's Office of River Protection.
Previously, he was responsible for the engineering division for the tank farms project and the nuclear safety division for the tank farms and WTP projects.
In his new role, Harp is responsible for integration of the WTP and the tank operations contractor to ensure successful startup, commissioning and eventual operation of the plant, which will convert high-level radioactive wastes into a glass form for disposal.
Harp joined the Department of Energy in 1991. Prior to the Office of River Protection, he served as a fluid and mechanical engineer at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
