KENNEWICK -- The Kennewick Applebee's restaurant has a new look inside and out plus an updated menu of food and drinks.
AmRest, which operates the restaurant at 606 N. Columbia Center Blvd., closed it Nov. 14 and reopened it Thursday.
While Applebee's was closed, the contractors replaced the exterior striped awnings with oversized, contemporary ones that elongate the building and highlight the faade.
They also repainted the interior and exterior of the building and did some remodeling and redecorating.

Applebee's, the largest casual dining chain in the world, has set an aggressive goal to complete the revitalization of all company-owned and franchise restaurants over the next several years.
The Kennewick Applebee's is one of the first in the Northwest to be updated.
"We're breathing new life into our restaurants, giving them stronger connections to their individual neighborhoods and providing our guests with exceptional experiences," said Mike Muldoon, brand president for AmRest Applebee's in a news release.
