Harley dealership to reopen in Kennewick

KENNEWICK -- Rattlesnake Mountain Harley-Davidson and RideNow Powersports Tri-Cities is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Kennewick.

The store will sell domestic and imported motorcycles, bike gear, parts and service.

The store is the former Shumate Motorsports. John M. Shumate filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year for his dealerships in Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, Spokane and Lewiston.

RideNow Powersports of Tempe, Ariz., recently took over the assets of the dealership on Kennewick's Highway 395 and 19th Avenue.

RideNow, which started in 1983 as a small Honda dealership in Chandler, Ariz., now has 23 dealerships in Nevada, Arizona, Texas, North Carolina and Florida, employing more than 600 people, according to the company website.
