Home sales in state remain lackluster

KIRKLAND -- Housing sales in Washington still are lackluster, and agents say the market probably won't drastically improve soon.

The Northwest Multiple Listing Service says brokers are reporting year-over-year declines in pending home sales in the state. However, prices on sales that closed in September appear to be stabilizing compared with last year.

In King County, the median price for last month's sales of single-family homes and condominiums was $350,000, nearly identical to a year ago. Seven other counties reported price gains.
