Barnard Griffin in south Richland won the top honor for its 2008 cabernet sauvignon, a $17 red wine.

The judging was conducted Saturday and Sunday at the Central Washington State Fairgrounds in Yakima. Nearly 400 wines were entered in the 29-year-old competition.
