Nuclear society meeting Tuesday in Richland

Alex Alben of TerraPower will discuss "Foreign Policy Trends Relating to Arms Control and Nuclear Proliferation" Tuesday in Richland at a meeting of the Eastern Washington Section of the American Nuclear Society.

Alben handles business and corporate strategy for TerraPower, which is working to improve technology for reliable nuclear power. He writes an opinion column for the Seattle Times and previously served on Sen. John Culver's Senate Armed Services Committee staff and Sen. Claiborne Pell's Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff.

His talk is at 7 p.m. at the Shilo Inn. Those who want to attend the dinner meeting an hour earlier will be charged $22 and should make reservations by noon Monday by calling 947-0988.
