Clore center receives $16,000 from fundraiser

PROSSER — The Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center received $16,000 from this year’s Moteur de Vine benefit ride.

The ride, in its second year, gives participants a look at Washington’s grape-growing regions.

This year’s participants explored wineries and vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. The trip included lunch at Northstar Winery prepared by Prosser chef Frank Magana (Picazo 7Seventeen), a tasting at Leonetti Cellar and an evening of festivities played host to by Dunham Cellars.

Next year’s ride is scheduled to take participants to the state’s newest AVA, Lake Chelan.

Last year’s inaugural ride through the Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills and Red Mountain American Viticulture Areas raised $12,500 for the Clore center.
