Benton County farmers eligible for USDA drought assistance
The ongoing drought means Benton County ranchers could be eligible for federal help.
The Livestock Forage Program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency will make payments to eligible farmers if a severe drought coincides with the normal grazing season.
A monthly payment could be as high as $40.79 for an adult cow in addition to emergency loans available for agriculture producers because of a disaster designation.
