Campbell and Company, Lennox and Johnstone Supply have provided a total of $28,532 in product and services to 14 families in the Tri-Cities/Yakima region with a public service “pay it forward” program launched in July.
Community members were encouraged to nominate families who were in dire need of air conditioning but could not afford it. More than 400 nominations were submitted. Nominations were reviewed and selected by the Benton Franklin Community Action Connections, and Campbell and Company, Lennox and Johnstone Supply teamed up to offer equipment and service to solve the air conditioning problems for the chosen households.
Staff performed over $12,006 in free diagnostics and repairs for nine of the nominees. Two complete system replacement/installations were awarded to families in Burbank and Yakima.
“So many stories from the nomination pool were compelling and heart-rending,” said Kerrie Tamburello, Campbell and Company customer service/ marketing manager. “We were able to provide comfort for many people: veterans, the elderly, people affected with serious health issues, and folks just down on their luck.”
