The Spiritual Life column, Mid-Columbia church calendar and briefs published since Jan. 1 have a second home at www.tri-cityherald.com under the Lifestyle section.
Readers are encouraged to comment, print or share on the content that appears on Saturday's Faith & Values page.
When Spiritual Life was created, it was written by one columnist -- the late Rev. Ron Carlson. The long-time pastor began writing for the Herald not long after he arrived in the Tri-Cities in 1971, and he went on to publish selections from his Tri-City articles in his book, Reflections On ..., the original title of his column.
He served in this writing ministry for two decades up until his passing 1999. The column was subsequently renamed Spiritual Life and expanded to include other Mid-Columbia church leaders, and recently a variety of faith leaders were added to the writers' group.
The development of the www.tri-cityherald.com/spirituallife means there is more room for Spiritual Life writers.
Interested writers living in the Mid-Columbia may send their submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org. They must be received no later than May 1.
Faith-based articles must be original work not previously published and no more than 500 words in length.
In addition to the article, tell us about yourself, your church affiliation and area of ministry, if applicable. Include a high-resolution jpg business photo as well as contact information.
Tri-City Herald editors will review the articles, and finalists will be selected based on writing ability and message.
