Here are a few tips on how to use the ingredients you already have to try out new recipes, skipping extra trips to the store and skipping the eating-out expense. This will eliminate waste, save you time and money, and add a little creativity to your meals!
SuperCook.com: Allows you to enter ingredients that you want to use (potatoes, cheese, lettuce, etc.) as well as exclusions such as no gluten or no dairy. Then you can search the optional recipes by All Results, Starters, Entrees and Desserts.
RecipeKey.com: Start by using “Starter Kits” and select your family life: single, couple or family. Add staple items to your e-pantry that you have around your kitchen, such as spices and sugar. Select any food allergies. Find matching recipes that contain the ingredients you have. Shoot for recipes that you have 100% ingredients of. Create a profile so you have your e-pantry at your fingertips, all the time.
Now that you have a few recipes, plan your meals for the week. Head to the store and purchase any ingredients you need to make the meals for the week, if any.
When you stick to your meal plan, you’ll save time pondering dinner options and money from not eating out or rushing to the store.
