Wanted: stink bug samples
Adult stink bugs are easily recognized by shieldlike shape, five-segmented antennae and a most disagreeable odor. They come in shades of green, brown and black.
Washington State University Extension is looking for specimens of anything resembling a stink bug, along with information on where (the town, county or GPS location captured), when (date) and on what host plant they were found.
Freeze bugs for 24 hours then place them in a plastic pill bottle and send to your local Master
Gardener program or to Mike Bush, Extension entomologist, 2403 S. 18th St., Suite 100, Union Gap, WA 98903. Digital images also may be sent to bushm@wsu.edu.
