The Benton County Conservation District has received a $2,959 state grant to expand its existing low-watering demonstration gardens.
The district is working with Master Gardeners to enhance a xeric garden in Kennewick's Grange Park by increasing the park's biodiversity, adding educational signs, addressing weeds and increasing public access.
The grant comes from the Department of Ecology's Terry Husseman Account. Husseman is a former division director and the account honors his past contributions in the field of environmental management, according to a news release.
