Food & Wine

Two openings and a closing

1. Jersey’s Grill and Bar opened late last week in the space at 3213 N. Toben (near K-96 and Webb) formerly occupied by Johnny Carino’s. Jersey’s is a sports bar full of televisions, projection screens and video games. The menu features sports bar classics such as nachos, pizzas, wings, burgers and steaks. Food is served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, and the bar stays open until 2 a.m. For more information about Jersey’s, call 316-636-5000 or visit the restaurant’s website at www.jerseysgrillandbar.com.

2. Metro Grill III is set to open Friday in the new Encore Restaurant and Nightclub, the business in the former O’Brien’s Irish Pub space at 5205 E. Kellogg. Michael Gonzalez, who owns the Metro Grill in Towne East Square and recently sold his Metro Grill II in Andover, will serve some of his sandwiches there during the lunch and dinner hours.

3. U Grill, a restaurant that opened in late September in the former Linkhaus spot at 7817 E. 37th St. North, closed several weeks ago. The restaurant was owned by Will Clark and included a Mongolian grill plus build-your-own Philly cheese steak sandwiches, burgers, brats and hot dogs.
