KENNEWICK -- The fall collection event for Benton County residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste is Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Kennewick.
This is the last opportunity of the year to dispose of household hazardous waste.
The new collection site is on Ely Street, east of Highway 395 between 10th and 27th avenues. Look for signs at the Benton County Road Department Building, 1709 S. Ely St., between Benton PUD and Waste Management.
Proof of Benton County residency is required (driver’s license or other proof of residency).

Acceptable material include chemical products, such as pesticides, herbicides, paints, cleaners, solvents, etc., batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, gas and anti-freeze.
Items not accepted include trash, tires, appliances, explosives, asbestos or biohazards.
