RICHLAND — Gail Everett, Richland's environmental education coordinator, issued a release Thursday announcing that Richland's solid waste department will begin delivering green yard debris containers to residents beginning the week of April 26.
Delivery will begin in pilot neighborhoods that did not initially request a yard container.
Delivery will then continue in South Richland neighborhoods and move north. The process is expected to continue into June.
Instructions and a pickup schedule will be delivered with the container.
To manage yard debris until then, residents can bring it to the Horn Rapids Landfill for free (yard debris only.) Yard debris is being separated from trash and will be composted on-site to better manage material from going to the landfill. The facility is open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
